Of course he can endorse whomever he wants but he should be honest that it's all about race, and that's okay. But don't say it has nothing to do with that. Name me one white liberal he's endorsed?

He watched McCain "flip flop" on the economic crisis, He watched as the campaign made attacks because they were desperate, and he saw what kind of judgement he has by his choice of VP - it all troubled him, it troubles me. He felt Obama has talked presidential, walked presidential and made sound presidential decisions. He is a smart man that Powell.

I guess we should just take him at his word. There's no forged documents that he basing his decision on or WMD hyperbole so maybe this is coming straight from his head and heart.
