A Gilbert family can finally rest after days of searching for 34-year-old Anne Carver, who went missing Monday and was found walking toward her house around 1 a.m. Thursday.

“We were just overjoyed, elated, just overcome with joy,” said her brother, Aaron Williams. “And that's the way it's been since.”

Carver returned in good shape and did not appear to be harmed, Gilbert Police said.
She was sent to a local hospital for evaluation, where she remained Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, police are investigating any possibility of foul play.

Authorities still don't know what happened when Carver disappeared from the Queen Creek and Greenfield roads neighborhood where she lives during a jog with her dog around 5 a.m. Monday.

Her family, too, has questions.

“We're still trying to figure out what exactly happened,” Williams said. “But the support we had helped direct her back home, we believe.”

Carver's dog was found wandering the neighborhood with its leash still on just 30 minutes after they left her house for a jog, police said. An intense three-day search ensued.

Neighbors, relatives, friends and police, along with K-9 dogs from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, searched the area surrounding her house on foot and horseback.

At the time, police did not suspect foul play.

Now, they're investigating any possibility and conducting interviews for the ongoing investigation.

For Carver's family, it's just a relief know she's safe.

“We're just happy to have her back,” Williams said.
