These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ... the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was ... the Republican Party.

Well, while I certainly don't accept your premise, I totally agree preventable, didn't occur in a vacuum, and blame is spread all around - this is more a governmental blame issue, not a party issue. Pox on all their houses!

The first person sounds like a real asshole and I'd like to know who it was. And Sandy you are right, there are a lot of people to blame in both parties but it was Bush that made us socialist!

Fair enough but if Obama wins, he will keep us socialists! And Bush didn't even have a vote in the bailout so it was our fucking Congress who made us socialists! And damn, we can't even blame McCain or Obama for that. Even though they approved it in the senate, they really didn't count.

so I finally got the article to come up and it was the same one that my brother sent me a few days ago. I just wish someone would stand up and say that the people who could not afford these loans were greedy and knew they couldnt afford them but because we're Americans we need to live up to the Jones'. We dont need another pres. to tell us "go shop" at any time but especially not when we as a country are in trouble.

Sorry Ladies if you took offense. I took what was exactly said in the article, copied and pasted to make a point. It was not McCain or Obama it was our Congress who is primarly Democrats (according to the article) I thought it was a good article and could have been prevented so I guess I am the ASSHOLE for not signing my name

And I have to admit - I totally misread what she wrote!!! I thought it said the Dems tried to stop it and the Republicans stopped the dems - so it was blaming the Pubs. And I went off of that premise which was incorrect So - we should all slap ourselves in the head because what she said was right - it was preventable and neither party stopped it!
